It's advised to stay hydrated by drinking water and reduce caffeine intake to prevent dehydration. Avoid consuming a large meal before the session. Arrive on time to make the most of your session and allow time to relax before it begins. For first-time visitors, arriving about 10 minutes early is recommended to complete health history forms without affecting session time. Additionally, using the restroom before the session is crucial for uninterrupted relaxation.
Communication with the massage therapist is key to ensure comfort during the session. If pressure, temperature, or any other aspect isn't ideal, don't hesitate to let the therapist know. Breathing deeply enhances muscle relaxation, and deciding whether to talk during the session depends on your intention. To stay present, focus on the therapist's touch, the sensation of sheets, or your breath.
No, a massage should not be painful. It can involve slow, gentle techniques for therapeutic benefits. While specific deep tissue or trigger point work might be slightly uncomfortable, the pressure should not exceed a 6-8 on a pain scale of 1-Discomfort should not hinder relaxation, and you can always communicate to adjust pressure.
If you're ticklish, inform the therapist before the session. Adjusting pressure and speed can reduce ticklish sensations. Open communication ensures a relaxing experience.
Hypo-allergenic oils and creams are used, but if you have sensitive skin, consider bringing your preferred oil or cream. It's important to inform the therapist of any allergies.
You should disrobe to your comfort level. While it's beneficial to fully undress for a comprehensive massage, you can choose to keep undergarments on. The therapist will drape you with sheets and blankets, uncovering only the areas being worked on.
You should avoid a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu symptoms, blood clotting disorder, complicated pregnancy, recent surgery, or contagious skin condition. Modifications might be needed for other health conditions, so keep your therapist informed.
A trigger point, often called a "knot," is a hyperirritable spot in muscles or connective tissue causing local and referred pain. They're associated with various conditions such as headaches, low back pain, and Fibromyalgia.
Massage therapists focus on your well-being, not your body's appearance. They assess how your body holds itself for better understanding and targeting of areas needing attention.
Drink plenty of water to aid toxin elimination. Nurture your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Give yourself extra time after the massage to transition back into your routine. Consult your therapist before using heat or ice, and incorporate stretching to maintain relaxation and length in muscles.
Staying hydrated is essential both before and after a massage to support bodily functions. If you feel sick or sore after a session, communicate with your therapist, as precautions may be necessary depending on your health history.
Frequency varies based on individual needs. Weekly to bi-weekly massages are ideal for specific health benefits, but monthly or quarterly sessions still provide relaxation benefits. Consult your therapist for personalized recommendations.
High-quality, organic, and sustainably harvested products are used in sessions, including certified organic, vegan*, gluten-free massage cream/lotion/oil/gel and therapeutic grade essential oils. If you have allergies or sensitivities, you can bring your own product or inform your therapist.

I had 75 min customized massage with Sydnee and I cannot say enough wonderful things. I struggle to be in that vulnerable of a place and have avoided getting massages as a result but she made me feel completely at ease (as did the entire environment, the whole place is lovely.) She listened to my concerns and problem areas and spent a ton of time ensuring I felt comfortable and 75 min later I feel about 2 inches taller and muuuuch better; my neck/back pain is gone. I'm super glad I booked the appointment here, and especially with Sydnee, and would encourage anyone to do the same.

A 5-star rating does not capture how wonderful PCCHH truly is. Give me a bullhorn and I’ll shout it out loud! I’ve been frequenting now for about 4 years to help with chronic back pain. Every therapist I have seen has been professional, intentional, and caring. My pain is under control AND I learn something new about my body every time I’m there. Massages start with a little debrief about what you’re holding in your body. If you have a question, you are met with a knowledgeable answer. Therapists keep notes to follow up with you on your return visit. Simply put, you are genuinely cared for from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. Special thank yous to Katrina who has been a light in my life recently. Her attention is nourishing and careful. And to Nikki who always knows what I need - even if it’s just a good hug!
