Stress is a body’s reaction to anything that requires attention or action. It causes strain that affects a person’s physical, psychological, or emotional well-being. It can result from any uneventful experience that may lead to anger, frustration, irritability, depression, nervousness, or anxiety in certain daily activities. It may lead to a significant health disorder if continued for a longer duration of time. Stress may be classified as acute stress, Chr, chronic, or positive cues in detail.

1. Acute stress

The type of stress that lasts for a short duration of 15 days or less can be accounted for as acute stress. It doesn’t last for a more extended period. A sudden bad experience at work or any accidental injury may lead to stress, which will fade off quickly. Acute stress positively impacts one’s life as it pushes the person to perform better and get through any difficult situation. On the other hand, if it continues for longer, it may lead to specific health issues like anxiety or depression.

2. Chronic stress

As the name suggests, chronic stress lasts longer, i.e., for more than 15 days, and continues for several months to years. It may be caused due to heavy workload or pressure at the workplace or any serious problem that has affected one personally, like the death of any close ones. This stress can affect your physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. Many times, professional help is required if the condition seems to be more serious.

3. Positive stress

Eustress or positive stress is good for health as it comes with new challenges o be undertaken. An exciting adventure instills energy and helps motivate the person to do tasks better. It also helps in improving health, both physical and mental. One should always embrace positive life changes.

Acute stress, if taken positively, can help improve physical and psychological well-being, while chronic stress may lead to specific health hazards.
